TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) — Police found one man dead after a Tifton shooting incident Saturday, Aug. 29, near the Wildwood Apartments area.

The Tifton Police Department (TPD) said three people were shot, but two were treated and released from Tift Regional Medical Center.

Michael Benefield, a 23-year-old from Tifton, was found dead inside a vehicle at the apartment complex at about 10 p.m., TPD said.

No further details have been released at this time. TPD said that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is actively investigating.
