COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Four women were arrested in connection to a jailbreak that occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 16 in Colquitt County, an investigator confirmed on Dec. 18.

This comes after two inmates of the Colquitt County Jail — Alan Kennedy and Karon Caldwell — escaped from the facility Tuesday, launching a day-long manhunt.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Kat Johnson confirmed that Kennedy and Caldwell were captured in Thomasville after being on the run for several hours. Thomasville is about 30 miles from the Colquitt County Jail.

Johnson also confirmed that four women were arrested for helping Kennedy and Caldwell.

At this time, it is unclear exactly how the women were involved. Officials have not released the women’s identities.
