TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - Both ABAC basketball teams honored injured teammate Nate Mobley during Saturday’s games against Point University.
Mobley, a 6-foot-9 senior forward, suffered a traumatic head injury during Thursday’s game when the Stallions hosted Brewton-Parker College. The player collided with an opposing player and suffered two skull fractures.
Saturday’s game against Point University was senior day for ABAC, and Mobley was the men’s team lone honoree. The team honored him in his absence and snapped their 15-game losing streak.
Mobley is recovering in Atlanta, according to his coach.
“It feels amazing because he’s had some trials and tribulations with injury... health issues. But he was finally starting to come along, so it feels great to get a win in his honor,” said ABAC head men’s coach Calvin Sinkfield.
