Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A Better Way Grocers is on a global mission to create healthier neighborhoods, grow local economies and make sure families have a choice when it comes to their food. Their co-founder just returned home from studying ways to reimagine food access for underserved communities.
A Better Way Grocers (BWG) has been providing healthy food options to rural communities since 2019. Co-founder and Albany native, Tiffany Terrell, recently returned from her study at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in Italy.
During her study, Terrell collaborated with people from around the world, refining strategies to break cycles of poverty and expand economic mobility.
“I do believe that if we have our communities healthier that we can have stronger economic impact in our area. When people are healthier, they work better — They just do better,” said Terrell.
Terrell and 12 others were chosen out of the more than 700 people who applied to go on the study.
