TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) — A Tifton snow cone business is recovering after vandalism damaged parts of the property during one of its busiest times of the year.

Zalana Roig, owner of SnoBiz, said the vandalism destroyed signage and the business’s menu.

“Honestly, I was very shocked. I was very upset because as a small business owner, you put so much time, effort, money, love into your business that it just hurts really bad when someone destroys it for no good reason,” Roig said.

Roig and her husband, Ashley Roig, have owned the business for around eight years. She said they have had break-ins but never major vandalism like this.

The Tifton Police Department (TPD) identified Joshua Dunkleberger as the vandal in video provided by an employee. The footage allegedly shows Dunkleberger fired an Orbeez gun at the shop, damaging the property. He was charged with second-degree criminal damage to property.

Roig said the community response has been humbling.

“The community has sent me so many messages on Facebook. They have sent me text messages, calls. They have rallied around our business and truly supported us at this time,” Roig said. “We have even received random donations which was never expected, and I’m so thankful for them. So I’m just so incredibly thankful for everybody that’s supporting us during this time.”

Roig said the business will continue to operate under normal hours while they wait for new signs and a menu.
