ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — About $8,600 worth of property was reported stolen from a vehicle in Albany on Thursday, Feb. 26, according to an incident report from the Albany Police Department (APD). Among the stolen items was a black and grey Glock 9 firearm and a gold chain, APD said.
The items were reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked outside of a residence on Owens Avenue. The owner said the firearm and chain were inside of his vehicle, but other items were stolen from a tow-behind trailer.
The following are the items that were reported stolen and the value of each, according to APD:
- Glock 9, black and gray in color: $800
- Front sight of a Glock 40: $800
- Gold chain: $3,000
- 4 Stihl chainsaws: $1,000-1,600 each
The owner told police he noticed that the Glock 9 was missing from its holster in his vehicle on Thursday morning around 8 a.m. Then, he realized the Glock 40 was out of place and damaged, according to APD’s report.
After that, the owner said he observed “drag marks” in the dirt leading from his driveway to a tow-behind trailer on his property. He said that four chainsaws, each worth between $1,000 and $1,600, were taken from inside the trailer.
The owner reported that security cameras on his property did not detect any movement. There was no damage to the owner’s vehicle, APD said.
No suspects have been listed by officials at this time.
