COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. - The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following the theft of a red Honda 4-wheeler from the Greenfield Circle area.

According to the sheriff’s office, the theft was reported on Monday, December 29, after a construction company discovered the 4-wheeler missing from a job site. Investigators say the vehicle had been secured with a chain and lock before it was stolen.

A BOLO was issued, and deputies received multiple tips from members of the public. Following an investigation, detectives recovered the stolen 4-wheeler early Tuesday morning, December 30, from a wooded area on Locust Lane in Nicholls.

The investigation led to the arrest of James Hilliard, who has been charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. Authorities say additional juvenile suspects were involved, but no further information is being released at this time.

The case was investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division, the Drug Interdiction & Criminal Enforcement Unit (D.I.C.E.), and the Patrol Division. The investigation remains ongoing.
