IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Irwin County School District is updating parents following a bomb threat reported on Tuesday, May 5 at the middle/high school.

School officials say all students and staff have been thoroughly evaluated and are safe. The situation is now under control as law enforcement continues its investigation.

District leaders are asking parents and guardians not to come to the school at this time. Campus access is being limited while safety procedures are completed. Officials say they will notify families as soon as student checkout is available.
