DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) – The trial for a man accused in a 2021 homicide in Douglas is set to begin today.

Andre Benjamin, who was 19 at the time of his arrest, is charged in connection to the death of Joshua Brown.

According to authorities, officers responded to the Georgian Woods Apartments on July 17, 2021, where Brown was found dead.

Benjamin is facing charges of felony murder and possession of a firearm.

The case has been under investigation since the incident, and proceedings are now moving forward in court as the trial begins.
