ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany State University officials have confirmed that the campus has been given all clear after a bomb threat disrupted activities on Sunday evening, prompting an emergency response and temporary evacuation.

According to a statement released by the university, the threat was reported around 9:00 p.m. at ASU’s East Campus. Witnesses reported seeing a heavy police presence along with ambulances near the campus as law enforcement and emergency services responded swiftly to the situation.

University officials acted quickly to ensure the safety of all individuals on campus. Students, faculty, and staff were immediately relocated as a precaution while law enforcement agencies, including local police and campus security, thoroughly investigated the threat.

“The bomb threat prompted an immediate safety response,” officials stated.

The investigation determined there was no credible threat to our campus. An all clear has been issued, and normal operations have resumed.
