DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Dougherty County CASA hosted a foster care hygiene product drive during the month of August.

CASA, short for Court Appointed Special Advocates, works to provide consistent care and support for kids in the foster care system.

The drive began Aug. 1 and ends today, Aug. 31. Community members could bring new hygiene and personal care items for children ages 0-18 who are in foster care.

Some of the items CASA is collecting include:

• Toothbrushes and toothpaste
• Mouthwash
• Shampoo and conditioner
• Deodorant
• Q-tips

Since many kids go into foster care without adequate resources and supplies, having access to personal care items can make all the difference.
