Community members shared congratulations on social media, with one commenter writing that Speight has “always been a positive example to youth and teachers” with “a heart of gold.”

Speight’s daughter, Anyssa Speight, told WALB that as a daughter, this means more than words can describe.

“My mom is dedicated to excellence and hard work,” Anyssa Speight said. “Seeing the fruits of her labor makes this so meaningful as well as gives me a push to strive for more.”
