COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Some Coffee High School (CHS) students got the chance for a head start to planning their lives after they graduate from high school.

The Etowah Foundation Future Center at CHS helps students plan their next steps through college prep, scholarships and personal guidance. With graduation near, CHS senior Tamia Walker is headed to Georgia Southern University (GSU). She said the Future Center played a key role in her preparation.

“There was one really big scholarship that I applied to that had the max of $60,000, and I ended up getting that,” Walker said. “And I also have up to like six scholarships now with the help of the Future Center.”

Including CHS, The Etowah Foundation Future Center now has 15 sites in Georgia. The foundation supports college-bound students and those entering the workforce or military.
