COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A Dollar General manager is dead after a customer shot her.
On June 23, officers were called to the Dollar General on Victory Drive in reference to a woman being shot.
According to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office, the woman has been identified as 44-year-old Alexis Hill.
The coroner’s office says the suspect came in to buy hamburger buns that rang up as $1.58. The suspect handed Hill crumbled up two $1 bills.
As Hill was straightening the bills out, the suspect stepped to his right and shot the her.
Hill was pronounced dead around 10:45 a.m.
The suspect ran from the scene and was involved in an officer-involved shooting off Baker Plaza Road - where he injured an officer and a K9 officer.
The suspect is now dead.
