MITCHELL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A new John Deere tractor was found to have “extensive” damages, including gunshots, according to the Mitchell County Board of Commissioners.

The board said that they suspect this vandalism happened sometime in the afternoon or evening of Tuesday, June 3. They said the damages could have been done by one or multiple people.

Mitchell County added that the tractor was just delivered to them on Friday, May 30. It was parked at the intersection of River Road and MLK Drive when it was damaged, the board of commissioners said.

Officials said it appears that the gunshots were from a .223 and a 9mm firearm.

The board of commissioners asked anyone with information about this to call the anonymous tip line at 229-336-2078.
