EDISON, Ga. (WALB) - The City of Edison would like to inform residents of a new water outage affecting the city.

According to the city, during ongoing work, the same water main that was recently repaired was struck again by a contractor. This has caused water service to be interrupted once more. Crews are actively assessing and working to resolve the issue, but at this time there is no estimated timeframe for restoration.

The city apologizes for the frustration this situation has caused, especially following the recent outage, and for the inconvenience.

At this time, residents are asked to hold off on calling the Public Works Director’s personal phone, as crews are fully engaged in addressing the issue and are unable to respond to calls.

Please avoid the Highway 216 area while repairs are underway.

The city says, “We appreciate your patience and cooperation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
