ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The family of Rasheed Moore is offering a $20,000 reward, with an additional $2,000 from the Albany Police Department, for a total of $22,000 for information in Moore’s homicide.

Moore, 24, was shot and killed Aug. 16 outside Spotless Nightclub at 107 N. Mock Road, police said. Officers responded around 4:45 a.m., and Moore was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Moore’s sister, Kiera Slaughter, said the past several months have been difficult for the family.

“It’s been very hard,” Slaughter said. “Every day is different… It’s hard on me, my mama, his kids everybody.

Slaughter said Moore’s children are aware of what happened, but the loss has still been hard to process.

“They know what’s going on, but his daughter… she knows what’s going on, but she doesn’t really talk about it,” she said.

Slaughter also said Moore was killed due to gun violence, adding that the children’s mother was also taken in a similar way.

The reward, Slaughter said, is meant to encourage anyone with information to come forward, as the family believes more than one person was involved.

“We came up with $20,000 just for information,” she said. “If anybody know anything… any information would help.”

Albany police announced Sept. 2 that three men were arrested in the case. Charles Anthony Porter, 26, is charged with murder and possession of a dangerous weapon, police said. Anthony Hawkins and Shannon McClloyd Jr. are charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, and additional charges are pending, according to police.

Slaughter said while one person has been charged with murder, she believes others involved should also be held accountable.

“They locked three up, but one person has been charged,” she said. “We know it’s more than one person involved.”

She said the family will continue pushing for justice.

“No, we’re not going to stop,” Slaughter said. “We’re going to keep talking about it.”

The shooting also prompted city leaders and police to revisit late-night club safety. Police Chief Michael Persley said it may be time to consider earlier closing times for clubs, noting the city ordinance requires nightclubs and lounges to close by 3:30 a.m. and be cleaned up by 4 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Albany police. Tips can be submitted through the Albany Police Department app, the Crime Stoppers tip line at 229-436-TIPS, or by calling 229-302-0756.
