ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Albany apprentice lineman who died following a workplace accident last week, according to the funeral home.
According to his obituary, 20-year-old Caiden Michael Gibson of Leesburg passed away on May 27. Gibson worked as an apprentice lineman for the City of Albany’s Utility Operations Department.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 2, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home’s chapel, with burial to follow at Leesburg Cemetery.

The city of Albany confirmed Gibson’s death on May 28. Officials said the 20-year-old was a dedicated employee who joined the Utility Operations Department in September 2024. The city has not released details about how the accident occurred and said the incident remains under investigation.
Gibson is remembered by loved ones as a hardworking young man who enjoyed hunting, riding ATVs and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Bella Knox, and their young son, Cotton Michael Gibson, along with numerous family members and friends.
In the days following his death, family, friends and community members have shared tributes honoring Gibson’s life and work ethic.
