DUNWOODY, Ga. - A pedestrian was hit and several others, including children, were injured during Dunwoody’s Fourth of July parade.
Police said during the parade, a truck carrying a trailer hit a pedestrian when the driver stopped to switch with another one.
“During the switch, the new driver mistakenly hit the accelerator, which caused the vehicle to lunge forward. The vehicle struck a pedestrian, knocking her to the ground,” Dunwoody police said.
Police said when the driver braked, “the trailer disconnected from the truck and caused several people on the trailer to fall off.”
Several children and an adult were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. No one was seriously injured, according to Dunwoody police.
