CAMILLA, Ga. (WALB) - Two people are facing drug and weapons charges after investigators executed a search warrant at a Camilla home and seized suspected narcotics, cash and a firearm, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said the search happened Wednesday, Aug. 19, at a home in the 7000 block of Pipeline Road as part of an illegal narcotics investigation.

Investigators seized approximately 88 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 27.8 grams of suspected ecstasy, 1.37 ounces of suspected marijuana, about $11,000 in cash and a firearm, according to the GBI.

Travis Lamar Harris, 51, of Camilla, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including:

  • possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • possession of a Schedule II substance with intent to distribute
  • four counts of trafficking methamphetamine
  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony

Kenyetta Clayton, 47, of Camilla, was also arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, the GBI said.

Both Harris and Clayton were booked into the Mitchell County Jail.

The search was conducted by the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office, GBI Regional Investigative Office in Thomasville, Camilla Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.

The GBI said the investigation was aimed at addressing street-level drug distribution and violent crime in Camilla and Mitchell County.
