CLINCH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is actively looking into allegations involving a Clinch County educator and a student.

According to the agency, the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI’s assistance on Aug. 28 regarding allegations of inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student.

GBI confirmed Thursday, Oct. 1 that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Officials have not announced any formal charges or arrests at this time.

WALB reached out to the Clinch County School District superintendent and attorney Sept. 28 for comment regarding the teacher’s employment and administrative status. We have not yet received a response.
