VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — Georgia Christian senior Jaya Guilliams signed to play college basketball at Faulkner University.

Guilliams has been playing basketball since she was five years old.

“It made me feel very accomplished,” Guilliams said. “I’ve been playing basketball since I was, like, five. And so being able to advance into the next level, it means a lot to me.”

The Christian education component played a significant role in her decision.

“A really big part was the Christian education part,” Guilliams said. “And so that is a big part of my life, being a Christian. And so being able to go under coaches that have the same beliefs and just the environment being good is really important.”

Guilliams said she felt supported during her time at Georgia Christian.

“It’s really special because everybody’s rooting for me and everybody wants me to do the best I can,” Guilliams said. “And you can just feel the support from everybody.”
