ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Downtown Albany will be home to Georgia’s second Georgia Grown Innovation Center.

The announcement came in a Facebook post saying, “We’re excited to share that a new project is in the works, set to bring fresh, student-grown vegetables, delicious treats, handcrafted jewelry, clothing and other unique products to our community.”

The Georgia Grown Innovation Center will be located at 115 and 121 North Front Street once the space is ready. They say that this renovation will take some time, but that they are aiming for a late 2025 opening.

The market will showcase the fresh produce that Dougherty County students grow in the 4C Academy’s hydroponic greenhouses, and it will feature products from young entrepreneurs who participated in the FLEX ABY competition.
