Description
The gunman suspected of killing three people and injuring several others in a mass shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort has died, according to the Sparks Police Department. Dakota Hawver, 26, died overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning.
Hawver is accused of opening fire outside the valet area of the resort on Monday morning, killing three innocent bystanders and injuring another. The Sparks Police Department stated that Hawver legally purchased the gun several years ago and had no criminal or mental health history.

Officers with the Reno Police Department were on scene within three minutes of the first call and were able to make contact with Hawver within four to five minutes, where he was taken down by several officers. A total of six officers were involved in the shooting and have been placed on routine administrative leave. One officer suffered minor injuries from shattered glass.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as 33-year-old Justin B. Agulia, of Chatsworth, California, and 66-year-old Angel M. Martinez, of Sparks, who both died on the scene.
Additionally, 33-year-old Andrew C. Canepa, of Newbury Park, California, was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he died during emergency surgery.
