ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Ballard Spahr, the legal counsel for Atlanta News First’s parent company Gray Media, has filed a motion to access court records tied to an FBI raid of the Fulton County elections office.
The motion calls for “greater transparency” for ANF and other media organizations to be able to access all documents related to the search warrant the FBI did at Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center in Union City on Jan. 28.
At the heart of the search were records tied to the 2020 election in Fulton County. Over 600 boxes of records were seized.
On Feb. 4, Fulton County officials filed a motion, seeking the return of all records.
“The Fulton County motion, and all of the other search warrant records are not public because the entire case is sealed,” the motion filed by Gray Media and others, states. “There is not even a public docket for this case.”
In total, 16 news organizations joined onto the motion with Gray Media.
Those organizations are:
- Advance Publications
- ABC News
- The Associated Press
- Axios Media
- Bloomberg L.P.

- Dow Jones and Company, which publishes the Wall Street Journal
- E.W. Scripps Company
