ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler confirms there is no threat the the public after a 15-year-old was fatally shot on Sunday, Nov. 30.
The incident happened in the 500 block of S. McKinley Street. Coroner Fowler said he was called out to the scene at around 4:15 p.m. The 15-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
“It’s possible he shot himself. It looks like a suicide, but we’re still working to determine what happened. It’s sad. The family is distraught because something like this happened. That’s what going on now. We’re still investigating.”
Coroner Fowler is working to learn whether or not the shooting was accidental.
