WHIGHAM, Ga. (WALB) —Local and state law enforcement agencies are investigating a hit-and-run that left a person injured on Jowers Road in Whigham.
According to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), the Whigham Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) are actively investigating the incident.

First responders transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment. Their current condition has not been released.
“Our thoughts are with the individual and their family during this difficult time,” GCSO said in a statement.
Officials say that drivers traveling through the Jowers Road area are urged to use caution, reduce their speed, and remain alert for traffic restrictions.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information that could assist investigators to contact Grady County 911, the GCSO, or the GSP.
Officials stated that additional updates will be released as confirmed information becomes available.
