Description

GEORGIA (WALB) — Southwest Georgia voters will turn out to vote in local races May 19, 2026. Voters be given a ballot based on political party. This means you can only vote for candidates running in your party, or those running non-partisan. You can only vote in races that affect where you live.

Polls will open at 7 a.m. and stay open through 7 p.m. Results will follow.

In contests where only one party has candidates, the May primary will decide the winner. Races that include at least one Republican and one Democrat will be decided in November. Nonpartisan races are final in May. Georgia has a “50% plus one” rule: if no candidate gets a majority of the vote, the top finishers advance to a runoff on June 16, and the highest vote-getter in the runoff wins the primary.

County Commission District 1 (R) (This race will be final)

Crisp:

District Attorney, Cordele Judicial Circuit (R) (This race will be final)

Crisp County Board of Education District 3 (D) (This race will be final)

Crisp County Board of Education District 4 (R) (This race will be final)

Crisp County Commission District 1 Post 2 (D) (This race will be final)

Worth:

County Board of Education - District 1 (D) (This race will be final)
