OMAHA, Neb. (WALB) — Troy defeated Ole Miss 12-8 in an elimination game Sunday, June 14, earning the Trojans their first win in their first appearance at the College World Series.
Troy sophomore Noah Thigpen, a Lowndes High School alum, pitched five innings in relief in his longest outing since February. The right-hander allowed two runs on six hits, walked one and struck out five.
The win was Thigpen’s first of the season.
