LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Valdosta Police Department (VPD) said in a Facebook post Friday, April 14, that an arrest was made in a narcotics investigation.

VPD said they received information about a man bringing fentanyl to his home in Valdosta. Detectives identified the suspect as 43-year-old Robert Adams McGhin. VPD said he had two ounces of fentanyl.

McGhin was arrested and charged with felony trafficking of fentanyl.

Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan said in the post,

“This was incredible teamwork by our department...The minute our patrol officer received this information and passed it along to our Narcotics Unit, they immediately took action. The proactive response of everyone involved resulted in a quantity of this extremely dangerous narcotic being taken out of our community.”
