Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) On August 30, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Valdosta police officers responded to a burglary in progress at Fortify Pizza and Burger Bar, located in the 200 block of North Patterson Street.
A citizen had contacted 911 after noticing the restaurant’s front door was broken and slightly open.
Upon arrival, officers contacted witnesses and employees who said that a male was inside the business drinking alcoholic beverages. When officers approached the suspect, later identified as Dipasquale, he was carrying a bottle of alcohol belonging to the restaurant.
Dipasquale was detained without incident. Police say he initially provided officers with a false name and date of birth.
Costly Damage and Disposal
The investigation revealed that Dipasquale broke into the restaurant, causing more than $1,100 in property damage.
Additionally, officers found several open liquor bottles. Because of possible contamination, the business had to dispose of $360 worth of alcohol that had been either consumed or opened during the break-in.
Charges Filed
Dipasquale was transported to the Lowndes County Jail. He has been charged with:
- Burglary (Felony)
- Providing a False Name and Date of Birth to Law Enforcement (Misdemeanor)
