PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Texas man jumped the wall at Mar-a-Lago to spread the gospel and marry the president's 18-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, according to an arrest report from the Palm Beach Police Department (PBPD).
Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, was booked on counts of trespassing after he was found on Mar-a-Lago grounds overnight Tuesday.

The Palm Beach Police Department says at 12:04 a.m., officers responded to Mar-a-Lago, where they met with United States Secret Service Agents who had detained Reyes.
Secret Service agents told police that Reyes "had jumped over to the wall to get into the property." While speaking with officers, Reyes admitted to climbing the wall to gain entry so he could "spread the Gospel to POTUS and marry Kai."
Security breaches like this raise concerns about protection for high-profile individuals.
"It does not appear, at this point, that he was there to hurt anybody. Nevertheless, it’s still a big problem for the Secret Service when anyone tries to gain unauthorized access into the Mar-a-Lago facility," former Secret Service agent Timothy Miller told CBS12 News.
As authorities continue its investigation, Miller says federal agents could conduct an after-action review to assess security procedures and prevent future incidents.
"The Secret Service has what’s called concentric circles. A wall is not the security; it’s a piece of the security. There are technical measures—cameras, drones—and physical measures like trained dogs and agents ready to respond quickly and stop the threat," Miller added.
According to the arrest report, Reyes was caught also caught trespassing on Mar-a-Lago back in December of 2024.
Reyes remains at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $50,000 bond as of Tuesday night. Court records show he pleaded not guilty.
Others have tried breaking into President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. In January, the Palm Beach Police Department arrested a 32-year-old man for jumping over the wall surrounding Mar-a-Lago. In February, another man breached Mar-a-Lago's borders with the intent on meeting the president.
