BAINIBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - WALB has learned that more charges have been brought against a man who reportedly stole a Bainbridge city work vehicle and led officers on a pursuit.
The suspect, Alejandro Delgado, was arrested and charged with theft by taking motor vehicle, interference with government property and robbery on Thursday, May 29.
In addition to those charges, Delgado is now also facing charges for:
- Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer
- Reckless driving
- Possession of firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes
- Hit-and-run or leaving the scene of accident
- Obstruction of an officer
- Vicious dog not transferred/sold/donated unless relinquished to Gov facility/vet
This all comes after Delgado allegedly stole a Bainbridge city work vehicle and led officers on a chase with two dogs, Bainbridge Public Safety (BPS) reports.
According to BPS Director Frank Green, one of the dogs bit an officer and was, in turn, shot and killed.
The bitten officer is recovering, and Delgado has since been released from the Decatur County Jail.
