GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A Grady County resident says they saw lightning moments before a Grady County home Caught fire on Monday, July 6, 2026.

The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) and other first responders arrived at the home in the Beachton Ridge area just after 12:30 P.M. The GCSO asked residents to avoid the area as they worked to contain the fire.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Please keep those affected, as well as our first responders, in your thoughts.”

WALB is working to get more information on the fire and what may have caused it.
