BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - One person is dead following a house fire in Brooks County, according to the Brooks County Fire Department.

The Brooks County Fire Department responded to a home in the 2000 block of Hickory Head Road around 11 a.m. on Sunday. Fire units arrived to heavy flames and smoke showing from the front, side and back of the home.

Once crews brought the fire under control, salvage and overhaul operations began. According to BCFD, a body was found inside the home.

The incident is still under investigation, BCFD said.
