VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The King Center held a wreath laying remembrance ceremony in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. over Easter weekend in Atlanta.
Saturday, April 4, marked 58 years since Dr. King was killed on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968.
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Association holds an annual memorial to honor and remember Dr. King for his work towards social justice.
On Tuesday, April 7, the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Program will be at 6 p.m. at the King Memorial Park, located at the corner of South Ashley Street and Martin Luther King Drive.
The event features a speaker, along with musical and dance performances.
