Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — An “armed and dangerous” man is wanted out of Valdosta, the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) said on March 4, in connection to a shooting investigation.
The wanted man is Brandon Rashad James, a 33-year-old, according to VPD. He is wanted on the following charges, VPD said:
- Aggravated assault (felony)
- Aggravated battery (felony)
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
This comes after a shots fired incident on Monday, March 2, officials said. A 29-year-old woman was found by VPD officers with gunshot wounds at about 6 a.m. Monday.
The woman was unresponsive when officers found her, according to a VPD press release. She was taken to the hospital and is now in critical but stable condition, according to VPD.
An investigation into the incident reportedly revealed that the woman was in a relationship with James, and they were together on Monday. VPD said James allegedly shot the woman multiple times before fleeing from the scene.
VPD described James as:
- An African American male
- 33 years old
- 5’5”
- 130 lbs
- Bald with facial hair

Police said James should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows his location should contact 911 immediately, VPD said.
