ALBANY, Ga.(WALB) – The 1100 block of North Madison Street, between 5th Avenue and 4th Avenue, is temporarily closed due to ongoing work on Albany’s Combined Sewer Separation (CSS) project.

Southbound traffic is being detoured around the construction zone via 5th Avenue, Rawson Drive, and 4th Avenue. The EMS route to the emergency room via 5th Avenue will remain open.

Drivers are encouraged to plan for alternate routes or expect potential delays. Large trucks should avoid the detour due to the residential nature of the surrounding area.

Construction is expected to last approximately two weeks or until the work is completed.

For updates and more information about the CSS project, visit albanyga.gov/css.
