LOWDNES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A temporary road closure on Woodrow Wilson Dr. will begin on Oct. 4, officials say.
Woodrow Wilson Drive will be closed at the intersection of Slater Street for approximately two weeks due to underground utility work with the SGMC main campus expansion project.
Patients needing emergency care are advised to access the emergency department from Cowart Avenue off Ashley Street.
Other patients and visitors should continue to enter through the main entrance off of Pendleton Drive or the parking deck.

The expansion project will include a new three-story women and infants tower, comprehensive care from prenatal to postnatal stages and a new emergency department with a level three trauma center.
The project completion is scheduled for late 2026. The city of Valdosta said it will have a detour in place. Drivers are warned to use caution while traveling in the area.
