THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - The Thomasville Police Department (TPD) announced June 5 at about 1 p.m. that a scene was secured and a suspect has been taken into custody following a late-night shooting on June 4.

TPD said the suspect, who is now in custody, was involved in the shooting. They did not specify if the person is the suspected shooter or not.

Police did not provide many details about what happened, but assured that they believe the incident was isolated. They said there is no ongoing threat.

In the announcement, TPD asked the public to avoid the Warner Street area.

TPD said this is an active investigation. WALB is working to learn more.
