DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - The start of the 2025-2026 school year is coming up quickly. The Douglas Police Department (DPD) is helping the community get ready for it with a school supply drive: Operation Backpack.
DPD said they are taking donations of several school supply items like pencils, paper, crayons, folders and more. They said donations to Operation Backpack will go directly to students in the Douglas community.
Donations can be dropped off at the Douglas Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the police department said.
