GEORGIA (WALB) - Severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings have led some schools in South Georgia to close or operate on irregular schedules on Thursday, March 12.

Below is the information on the schools that have been affected.

• Dougherty County Schools
  • Flexible attendance
    • Student absences will not count against them
    • If your child is still at home, they are not required to go to school
    • For students who are already at school, schools will operate on a modified schedule, but will be dismissed at the normal time
• Worth County Schools
  • Non-traditional school day
    • Attendance will not be held against students
    • If your child is still at home, they are not required to go to school
    • Students already at school may be picked up/checked out without an attendance penalty
    • High school drivers will not be released until law enforcement informs us that the roads are clear and safe
    • Students who have already arrived at school will be fed breakfast and lunch and dismissed at the normal time
• Crisp County Schools
  • High school is closed for the remainder of the day
• Stewart County Schools
  • Operating on a 2-hour delay schedule
• Webster County Schools
  • Operating on a 1-hour delay schedule
• Grady County Schools
  • Schools are operating on a normal schedule
  • Students without transportation to school are excused
• PCOM South Georgia
  • PCOM South Georgia on-campus activities/classes will be delayed until 10 a.m.
