DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - One person was shot on Saturday, June 12, according to the Douglas Police Department (DPD).
At about 2 p.m. on Saturday, the DPD said they responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of McLean Street and Sears Street.
DPD said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was airlifted to a medical facility for care. The severity of the victim’s injuries is unclear at this time.
The police department did not mention any other victims.
The investigation is underway, according to DPD. They said anyone who may have witnessed the event or who has any other information related to this case should call the DPD using (912) 384-2222 or email them here. The police department also listed a number for anonymous tips: (912) 260-3600.
