Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Dougherty County Public Works will implement a special debris collection program to assist residents in unincorporated areas outside city limits with storm cleanup. This comes after the recent storms on March 12 and 15.
According to Doco Public Works officials, pickup is scheduled to take place from April 13 through April 17, 2026.

“Residents are asked to place storm debris at the right-of-way no later than Friday, April 10, 2026, to ensure collection.”
Officials ask that debris be placed between the sidewalk or ditch and the curb or street.
“Materials should not be placed on or near water meters, fire hydrants, or beneath low-hanging trees or utility lines.”
Residents are also required to separate debris into designated categories:
- Vegetative debris, including tree branches, leaves and logs
- Construction debris, such as drywall, lumber and carpet
- Metal debris, including metal roofing and damaged household appliances
Officials say that debris placed after the April 10 deadline may not be collected during this scheduled pickup cycle.
