CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) - A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition following a shooting in Cordele on Saturday evening.
Officials say the Cordele Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 600 block of West 11th Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. on Feb. 14. Upon arrival, officers found the teen with a single gunshot wound.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel from the Cordele Fire Department and Crisp County EMS quickly transported the victim to Crisp Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to another area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Officials say that the Criminal Investigations Division secured the scene while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded to assist with the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not released additional details at this time as the investigation remains active.
