ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A family is still searching for answers after a mother of five was killed in a shooting last week. Police ask the public for any information in the shooting death of Kiaberia Young.

Young was shot after an argument became violent on Monday, April 27. She Later died from her injuries. Four other people were also shot. They are expected to recover.

APD named Braylen Robinson as a person of interest in the shooting. Officers arrested Robinson on separate charges, unrelated to the shooting. Officers said Robinson ran from them in his vehicle before causing a crash that flipped both vehicles.

While the arrest could lead to information, Chief Persley says there is a difference between a person on interest and a suspect.

In a press conference on Monday May4, Persley said “If person is listed as a suspect then that means we have to believe that they were involved in it and charges will be forthcoming. If it’s a person of interest... we need to talk to (Them). We don’t have any charges, we don’t know fully. You don’t know 100 percent exactly what they actually know.”

Robinson faces several charges from his attempt to run from officers. He is charged with:

• Three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers
• Reckless driving
• Felony fleeing and attempting to elude

This Case is active and ongoing. APD says additional persons of interest will be released to the public this week as the investigation continues. These individuals may only have information in this case. That means they may not face charges, depending on their role in the events that lead to the shooting.
