Whitney Houston remains one of the best-selling music artists of all time, dominating the charts throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Her string of number-one hits included “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Greatest Love of All,” and “Saving All My Love for You,” among many others.

Houston also found success on the big screen. She made her film debut in The Bodyguard, starring alongside Kevin Costner. The movie featured her iconic rendition of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” which became one of the best-selling singles in music history.

Houston also had ties to the state of Georgia. She and her then-husband, singer Bobby Brown, shared a home in Alpharetta. Following her death, Houston was posthumously inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
