Description

IOWA PARK, Texas (WCTV/KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said two people have died as a result of their injuries following a single semi-truck crash west of Iowa Park.

DPS said that around 12:30 A.M. on April 18, 2026, a 2020 Peterbilt tractor was towing a Wilson semi-trailer southeast near mile marker 326 on U.S. Highway 287.

The preliminary DPS report said extremely strong crosswinds caused the semi to lose control. The Peterbuilt lost control to the right, then overcorrected to the left, causing both the tractor and trailer to roll on the passenger side.

The semi also struck a guardrail and became entangled.

The driver, identified as Joshua Brad Sneed (43) of Banks, Alabama, and the passenger, identified as Ashley Ramirez De los Santos Corona (31) of Thomasville, Georgia, were both pronounced dead at the scene as a result of their injuries.

DPS said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
