CHULA, Ga. (WALB) — Two Tiftarea Academy football players signed to continue their careers together at Andrew College.

Chap Kendrick and Caden Grier signed to play college football at the Cuthbert school. Grier, at 5′9″, finished with just under 800 yards his senior year. Kendrick, 6′5″, recorded 11 sacks off the edge for the Panthers.

“It feels really, really good. It just means a lot. It’s great to have that kind of support and everything. I just love these guys and all that. I got family over there. It’s very close to them. So, yeah, it just felt like home,” Kendrick said.

“It’s a great time being here. Just friends, meeting new friends, having family that supports you and everything. It just means, like, just a very good opportunity for me to, like, not even in football, just in school. I’m more of a, more of a, like, a introvert, I guess. Just to have everybody support me and all that, it means a lot,” the athlete said.

Grier said he feels more comfortable on the football field.

“I feel more free at football, and, like, you can hit people without getting in trouble. So, I mean, it’s, it’s, it’s kind of different from just being out in school and all that,” he said.

The small campus environment appealed to Grier.

“Andrew’s, like, it’s basically like TA. It’s, it’s, like, smaller. I don’t really want to go to, like, a big school and all that. So, it’s just, it’s kind of like TA small classes and all that,” he said.
