WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an "announcement" at noon in the Oval Office on Friday.

Details about the topic of the address have not been released, but it follows discussions with global leaders about finding a solution for the three-year war between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders at the White House on Monday to try and get the ball rolling on a trilateral meeting between Trump, Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Their meeting came after Trump met Putin at a military base in Alaska on Friday.

During a surprise appearance at The People's House gift shop across from the White House, Trump told reporters they will see "if Putin and Zelenskyy will be working together. They don't get along too well for obvious reasons, but we'll see."

"I think President Putin wants to find an answer, too," Trump told Zelenskyy and European leaders on Monday. "And we’ll see in a certain period of time, not very far from now, a week or two weeks, we’re going to know whether or not we’re going to solve this, or if this horrible fighting is going to continue.”

Other possible topics of discussion for Trump include his plans for a federal takeover of Washington, D.C., reciprocal tariffs, and the FBI's raid of former national security adviser John Bolton's home.

Trump also mentioned at The People's House that he is looking into doing something "cosmetic" to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
